NoMI is proud to present a curated exhibition by contemporary artist Dwight Hwang, whose work explores the relationship between nature, movement, and preservation through the traditional Japanese art of gyotaku.

Originating in Japan during the mid-1800s, gyotaku was once used by fishermen to document their catches before photography existed – creating direct impressions using the specimen itself, ink, and paper.

The exhibition serves as a prelude to NoMI x The Imprint Experience, debuting Fall 2026 as part of Park Hyatt’s Masters of Food & Wine series. The limited-run experience will bring together the return of Chef Masa for an intimate omakase experience, live gyotaku by Dwight Hwang, and a rare Japanese spirits pairing.
